Hip, Hop, Story, Stop! was really lovely today...it's back on Friday if you're in charge of a small kid who likes outdoor dancing and stories.https://twitter.com/ScotStoryFest/status/1450741159911956489 …
Special Mention: Hot Mum Trying to Retain Composure While Crawling Through Small Tunnels and Sharing Rueful Smiles with Slightly Less Hot Mum with Less to Lose.
The Quester: the soft play is something to be conquered, danger lies everywhere. No interaction required, this kid is filled with dragons and has a running commentary which will continue until they are fired from their first job for daydreaming, and go on to write a bestseller.
The Supporter: less confident child who often get sucked into the greater gravity of a louder kid and will orbit them for eternity until pulled off by the even larger gravitational force of Pom Bears. Will grow up to be a great pal who constantly questions their own choices.
The Happy To Be Here: jolly child, delighted to with everything, shrieking with laughter at absolutely nothing. Finds slide so hilarious that everyone else is 40% happier in their company. Will one day run a small grocers and be adored by neighbourhood.
The Make It Cool: often a girl with a younger sibling, confidently takes certain routes which are - and I absolutely support this - cooler. Will sometimes lie down to chat to a pal like they're on a break from their office job. Enjoys an eyeroll with an adult.
The Determined Worker: small child who huffs and puffs around, making every climb look like a job which they are taking very seriously. Will occasionally pause, put hands on hips, and smile at nearest adult. Excellent kid.
Went to soft play yesterday and had forgotten how much I love the cast of regular characters you get. Timewasting

(this is a squid game, rather than pedestrian crossing ref...I realise if you haven't seen it you just think there's keen traffic light fans)
Walking home late last night and in amongst all the football chants, it was a nice change to hear a bunch of lads shouting RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT BANG BANG while they were crossing the road.
