Current Boutique is a chic consignment shop that offers a curated selection of secondhand women's designer clothing and high-end accessories. Established in 2007 by owner Carmen Lopez, the store buys and sells pre-loved fashion items, catering to the busy lifestyles of women who appreciate quality and value. With multiple locations including Clarendon, Old Town Alexandria, U Street, and Bethesda, Current Boutique provides young professionals with fashionable options from popular brands at discounted prices.

This is a great secondhand shop for clothes that are of nicer brands than you'd easily find at Goodwill or the like. I've found lots of gems (and sold some of my own pieces as well!). Love having them in the area!

I have been consigning with this store since 2017. Just today I had a $39 credit balance in my account. I come into the store, the two young ladies look up my account .They say my balance is now $0, but they can see on their end where it should be $39. I have not interacted with my Current Boutique account ever, just look at the balance every now and then to see that it is still $39. Don’t trust this store, people. They’ll take that consignment balance right out of your account, and you can’t do a thing about it! This store is running a scam. Don’t say you weren’t warned!

*Can only speak to shopping experience and not consignment*Don't have much experience with second hand shopping, but had a very pleasant time here! LOTS to look through from a variety of brands, including many designers. Reasonable prices for the most part, and the clothing seemed clean and in good condition! Workers are super friendly, patient, and helpful as well. :)

I left few items for consignment 3 weeks ago, never received any items, no one knows where they are, never received the email to check where my things are and no one answers on Instagram either. Worst consignment experience ever, thanks the universe they didn't accept ALL the items i offered... they would "disappear" too. What goes around turns back around. I hope it makes you guys happy to take other people stuff and not be responsible for it and "lose" all of it. Don't go here for consignment!!

Very solid finds, unique pieces, and some nice designers mixed in. I found a small flaw on a piece I wanted and was offered a small discount which was great. Definitely returning.

Something tells me that this store is running a scam. Today they refused to accept my clothes based on dark color, old collection, season or light stains under arm pits (the ones only seen only by them, I didn’t see anything). When I asked what about pants that have a tag on, they said they didn’t see any. I brought three huge bags and when it took them 5 min to “look through” I already knew they didn’t bother to check everything. I pulled out the pants and they were on the very bottom of my bag where I packed it, they still refused them because it’s “old collection”. Like when thrift stores became fast fashion oriented - it is a THRIFT STORE for a reason. It is important to add also that they have a lot of clothes in the store with holes or stains, a lot of dark/black outfits - while rejecting and using this as an argument. When I asked about donation they did not provide any receipt referring to the fact that they are not donation place (as per them they are donating to Salvation Army). Why now I can’t shake the thought that they just simply took my clothes for free under donation disguise to actually sell it in one of their stores? Very sketchy.

This place is a great to find more affordable luxury goods, but it’s still a boutique, not a thrift store.Pros:Their clothing is in very good condition, is organized by clothing type, and offers a style for every personality.Con:I purchased a dress, with some dismissible designer’s name associated with it, and it was still $38. Later I went to the Goodwill on Columbia Pike and purchased a CK skirt, an LL Bean jacket and a J Crew skirt for the same price…

It was a nice experience - I got two pairs of shoes that were in good preowned condition but were expensive given that they were preowned. The staff did not speak to me but this does not bother me, I would rather browse without someone breathing down my neck. 4 stars for collection, subtract one star for disorganization. I would come back.

Do not consign here!! They don’t pay and won’t let you get back your stuff. They just want things for free! I left several cloth for consignment in April, never received any email or text after that. They said it would take two weeks to estimate the price but nothing happen ever after. Don’t do business with this store unless you are going to throw your items anyway.

All the women at the DC shop were wonderful and so so helpful and kind! Sophia went out of her way to help me find what I was looking for!

I used to really like this consignment store, but it’s really gone downhill in the past year. Their standards for purchasing items has become more subjective. They used to take several items from each batch I brought to the store, but they no longer do so. I won’t consign my clothes here anymore

I just moved to the area and saw the boutique on my first walk around the neighborhood and had to go in. The place was so clean and organized and the staff were so friendly and helpful! I found some cute pieces to wear to work, as well as some inspo for the spring season. I highly recommend you check out this shop for all of your shopping needs!

I am a patron of Current Boutique, consignment in Arlington, Virginia. On Wednesday, February 28th, at 1 pm, I visited the store for an appraisal on my nude-colored Christian Louboutin Pigalle Pumps 120. I asked a clerk who was wearing a leopard print shirt layered with a black leather bustier to take a look at my shoes. Prior to conducting any assessment, the attending clerk requested a certificate of authenticity, a requirement I had not encountered previously. I explained that, due to the shoes' age of six years, I did not have anything but the shoebox. However, I assured her that upon examination, the shoes would align with the standards of authenticity observed in other Louboutin products within the store. Disregarding my explanation, she declined to proceed further, citing the shoes' condition as too worn. Inquiring about the criteria for consignment, I received no definitive response from the clerk. Additionally, my request for a second opinion was met with rudeness as she curtly dismissed the notion, claiming to have already assessed the shoes. Subsequently, I expressed interest in viewing a pair of peep-toe Louboutins displayed for sale, only to find them in a severely deteriorated state, lacking the signature red sole. I am a regular customer at this location as I work in the area. Just a few weeks prior I went into the shop with a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps that weren’t in the best condition but I at least received a fair quote and treatment. And the clerk didn’t ask for a certificate of authenticity. I’m sure this behavior definitely falls below acceptable standards of customer service.I’ve attached the shoes below for reference. They sold in less than 24 hours on Poshmark.

Said simply: I love the Clarendon store and the Current Boutique concept. I’ve been shopping and consigning here for over 6 years. This is not thrift. It’s quality, often high-end designer items that are organized by size and sometimes genre - there’s always a fun rack or two (currently a Taylor Swift rack full of sparkles in honor of her tour and a Cottage Core rack that makes me want a weekend house at the Cape). I’ve found lovely like-new Missoni, Chloe, Prada, and Gucci pieces as well as a pair of Tod’s driving shoes and Golden Goose sneakers. They also have some less expensive items - its the best place for Free People! There’s something for everyone and always a fun adventure shopping here. The store is clean and the staff is made up of the sweetest most helpful women. They don’t sell on commission - so no pushy sales here. Instead I’ve never been there without a nice hello when I walk into the store and an immediate offer the hold my clothes until I’m ready to try them on. It’s a great experience overall.I don’t often post reviews but after reading one of the other reviews I felt compelled because I enjoy shopping here so much. I’d like to note-there’s no scam here and again- it’s not a thrift store. It’s consignment -and good consignment at that. They’re super picky about what they take based on what is currently fashionable plus what is going to sell-and based on season too! When they don’t take your clothes, you don’t have to leave them there. Take them home - give them to charity yourself. I personally am grateful that they’ll donate for me!

This store has a nice assortment of clothing for any occasion. From its methodically arranged racks and elegant displays, this place has a open atmosphere and encourages exploration. The items in the store are in pristine condition, the staff is very knowledgeable and items are reasonable priced. It is a trove for fashion enthusiasts and I will be back!
